Hardwired

I believe I am hardwired to see and to experience what I cannot see. I can see things in what I read, even though what I am seeing literally are no more than chicken scratches on a page. Honestly, being able to read a page on a book written by someone who lived thousands of years ago and to see what he saw and to feel what they felt is a miracle that gets way too little attention. It is the same thing with any art. The ability to suggest something exists when most of it isn’t there is another one of those miracles of light and color and the human eye that is one of life’s uniquely and most excruciatingly human gifts.
